I have just seen the recent post asking you to stop posting about the TV show, and I found this really upsetting. I am an AVID reader of the comic books, I started reading them before the show, and the books are FANTASTIC. I love them, they have so much character, emotion, and action perfectly balanced. BUT I love the show just as well. The show also has the perfect balance of character, emotion, and action (And the actors are fantastic). Yes, the show is not like the comic books, but that is the beauty of it; we get to explore the same characters, same events, same places, but just a slightly different version it. The creators of the show (including Kirkman) see the comic books just as a base line for writing the show, kind of like a spring board. They use a lot of the same stuff, but if they want, they can veer off a little from the books. If they created the show to be EXACTLY like the books, well then, whats the point? Yeah it would be cool to just see how things are reenacted, but there would be no excitement. Since I know everything that happens in the books I would know what would happen in every episode if the creators decided to follow the books, BUT in the actual show there is always that ‘cliffhanger’ feeling, the feeling of ‘HOLY CRAP WAS IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT EPISODE?!?!’ That is one of the many things I love about the show. The reason why I love this blog and follow this blog is because you post everything about The Walking Dead, from the books, to the show, to the games etc. PLEASE DO NOT STOP POSTING STUFF ABOUT THE SHOW.
